Yeah, that was an excellent description of the Forerunner, but I don't think it's true. In Halo: The Flood, the Covenant considered the humans weak and inferior to them. Considered them pathetic, filthy, and primitive. So either the humans were the forerunner and the Covenant don't know it or the humans weren't the forerunner.
Another thing. The Spartans. I don't beleive the Spartans would be the same as the UNSC Spartans. I mean I remember in the game of FoR where they were talking about repeating suits from long ago, but would they have the same name?
My theory is that the humans were the forerunner and that they owned the galaxy. The flood was an experiment designed as either a weapon or a source of something(medicine, genetic mutation...etc...). Then one day a Halo fired causing the others to fire, wiping the forerunner out. But, some managed to escape and colonize Earth, forgetting all their technology from having to start over. This also explains the Halo's earth gravity and atmosphere.
This explains alot and I've only found one problem with it. In the game I believe the Halo was within in range of Earth so It would have been destroyed. But oh well....

Very good, I have to disagree about this being the best explanation for what the forerunner did to buy the farm, thugh. I still think that the Archon series is better since Wado decided to make them a multitude of races. Not that yours isn't exceptional in itself.
  9/10

This is the best explanation of the Forerunner and there demise that I have read so far. The use of emotion to show motives and the explanation of the history make this one of the best fanfics I have read. That means a lot cause in my spare time I am going back and reading as many fics as I can.

Well, what can I say! It seems very well thought through, and part 1 really made me want to read part 2. Part 2 was also excellent. I really enjoyed this story, 9 / 10 if you may! =)

A masterpiece, wonderfully written. So what your saying is that the Aztecs found interstellar travel and built Halo's for genetic research but there had been faliures. So the flood was a faliure? Interesting and strange. Keep them coming!

I'm knackered so this is the last comment from me today (and not a long one.)
Excellent. People should not let the simple title cause them to slip past this one, they'd be missing out.
