The 50mm isn't that big. The warthog gun is 50mm. Of course, if you sent me out there with a fully loaded UNSC Destroyer. Hell, I'd be back in two days with out any ammo.

very nice story. Even if they wanted to, cna you imagine how much time it would take to get a firing solution on a fighter?

Of course, having the white streak of a MAC round coming in at you would cause just about any Elite to need new armor.

I would so like to submit my speed run of The Maw, that is always the level I beat easiest on legendary, but I don't have VHS camcorder, or video capture device sigh. =(

Yeah, they wouldn't use a MAC to take out a fighter. Just a wasted round. They would use point-defence 50 cal guns. Oh, speaking of "Mac Cannons". Mac is MAC, it's an abbriviation. It stands for Magnetic Acceleration Cannon, so putting the word "cannon" after it is just plain silly.
And just a tip with numbers, spell "7 hundred hours" out. Actually, spell out any number under ten.
And you also need to check on your military facts. I do not think that the mess would be "closed due to hours". Not at all.
But, keep trying.

Yes but what about the point defense guns mentioned in FoR? Why not use those? Anyway it was a good story.

Well you have two choices, let the Longswords take em out, and as we know the Covenenat are superior in technologies what with their shields, which would probably cost them a fighter, or be as ruthless as the Covenant to save lives.
Other than that how did you like the story?

I just have one question. Why would they use a MAC cannon to destroy a fighter? Seems like overkill to me.
