I've been following your story since the beginning. I must say I don't give the rebels much of a chance to win, given that they seem to be intent on fighting among each other.
Why not take creative license with your portrayal of Engineers? Aren't the books a creative portrayal of the Halo universe? I say, be as creative as you want--it's your story.

The dialogue seemed a little too human.

Yea the Covenant don't refer to each other with Brute, Hunter, Elite or Grunt. Those are the words humans gave them.

I agree with 343 salty beans. However, i still liked it. It was a bit short. I hope the next ones longer. Good detail though. I just really wanted the hunter to win, Darn it. Keep it up BansheeBoy.

in reply to Helljumper: It's easier, both for the author and his/her readers if the races are referred(sp?) to what the folks at Bungie call them.
And a little unnessecary question: Do you think the Covenant speak english in the first place?

I agree with Salty Beans and Helljumper.
Anyhow, I have really nothing to say at this point, except this...
Hey, didn't the end of First Strike state that Brutes were stronger than Hunters?

Sorry that I didnt post an oppinion about the story last time, but it is a very good story, I think. I just wish they were a little longer, and that i knew how this is going to turn out.

Nicely written, and the fight scene with the Brute and Hunter was done really well (although I too hoped the Hunter would win).
And as for what to call the species of the Covenant, I would say in your narrative text, use their normal names (Brute, Hunter, Elite, etc.) but in your dialogue come up with something that the Covenant would call each other; it would seem more authentic that way and the readers will still know what you're talking about.

the hunter lost...BOOOOOOO!!! haha jk jk. i guess they can call it even now. great battle.

in FS, it said "a Brute can tear a Hunter apart". but it never said anything about a Hunter not being able to return the favor. so i still think a Hunter can own a Brute in a fight.

Woah I never commented on this...I thought I did.
It's not as good as the last one, but still worth the read. The second one was pretty explosive and painted a battle scene in my head. This one was not as exciting and had less detail than the last one.
